This ashrama, situated at Morabadi in Ranchi, was started in
1927 and made a branch of the Mission in 1930.
Activities of the Mission centre :
A library and a reading room with 19,830 books, and 88 newspapers and periodicals.
A charitable allopathic-cum-homoeopathic dispensary, which treated 16,703 cases. Besides, 38 medical camps treated 5250 cases.
A mobile medical unit, which treated 12,167 cases.
Faculty of Integrated Rural & Tribal Development (IRTD) offering MSc and postgraduate diploma courses under Vivekananda University.
Welfare work by way of distributing scholarship to poor merititorius children, and providing pecuniary help clothes, blankets and so on to the needy.
Divyayan, a free residential institute with a Krishi Vigyan kendra, gives training to village youths, particularly to scheduled tribe youths, in agriculture, dairy and poultry-farming, horticulture, bee-keeping, farm machinery and social service. It has been recognized by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. There were 734 trainees this year. Besides, 4591 farmers were trained in 99 off-campus training programmes. It also published a Hindi bulletin Divyayan Samachar (18th year with 1700 subscribers).
Three agro clinics, a microbiology unit, soil testing facilities, and mushroom cultivation training in rural areas, various programmes such as soil and water conservation schemes and non-conventional energy propagation.
A centre of National Open School (256 students).


A mobile audio-visual unit, which screened 331 videoshows to create awareness in overall rural development (28,830 persons were benefited).
Programmes for women’s empowerment such as forming women’s self-help groups to impart management skills, vocational training, banking linkages, etc.
Programmes for farmers such as organizing educational tours, demonstration-cum-training programmes, annual kisan mela, (agricultural exhibition-cum-fair), imparting advance technologies, supplying inputs like seeds, fertilizer, etc, providing irrigation facilities and other infrastructures, conducting farmers’ exchange programmes, cultural competitions, seminars and so on.
Religious and spiritual activities: Regular worship, religious discourses and lectures in and outside the ashrama, and observance of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda and other religious prophets of diverse faiths.
