Cyclone Sidr Relief: Bangladesh: Our Dhaka centre continued extensive relief operations for thousands of cyclone victims. During this month, it distributed 3,99,510 kg rice, 1095 kg dal, 2190 kg potatoes, 1490 sets of utensils, 2834 saris, 2987 lungis, 220 other garments, 4903 blankets and 883 hurricane lamps to 45,601 cyclone-affected families of Bagerhat, Barguna, Barisal, Gopalganj, Khulna, Patuakhali and Pirojpur districts.  The relief work is continuing.

 

Winter Relief: During this month, 6437 blankets were distributed through the following centres to poor people affected by the severity of winter:

Baranagar Mission - 2200,

Chandipur - 500,

 

Chapra - 630,

 


Coimbatore Mission
- 300,

Ichapur - 800, Jalpaiguri - 200,

 

Karimganj - 1000,

Malda - 557,  
Raipur - 250.   
Baranagar Math distributed 120 woolen chadars,  
Chapra centre distributed 283 sweaters.  



Fire Relief: Bhubaneswar centre distributed 700 blankets to the families whose houses had been ravaged by devastating fire at Mali Sahi and Mahimanagar slum areas of Bhubaneswar.

Flood Relief: West Bengal: Belgharia centre, as a part of post-flood-relief work, distributed 1038 biscuit packets, 218 blankets, 1126 saris, 1062 dhotis, 1226 shirts, 307 frocks, etc to 2515 poor flood victims of two blocks in Burdwan district and one block each in South 24-Parganas and Paschim Medinipur districts. The relief work is continuing.

 

  Distress Relief: Our centres in Kolkata distributed the following items to poor people of neighbouring slum areas: Baranagar Math - 45 dhotis, 230 saris and 125 other garments, Baranagar Mission - 200 saris.
