Swami
Smarananandaji, Vice-President, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna
Mission, inaugurated the newly built extension to the monks’
quarters at Itanagar centre on 8 May.

Itanagar centre celebrated its
30th Anniversary on 10 and 11 May. Sri J J Singh, Governor of
Arunachal Pradesh, inaugurated the new Out Patient Department (OPD)
block of the hospital. Swami Smarananandaji declared open a new
building housing Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Intensive Cardiac
Care Unit (ICCU) and eye ward. He also presided over the public
meeting which was addressed by several distinguished speakers.
Many monks and dignitaries attended the celebration.

The following
centres conducted summer camps for children. The programme
included chanting, bhajans, moral lessons, yogasanas, etc.

the passing away of Swami Sarvagatanandaji (Narayan
Maharaj) on 3 May at 5.30 am local time (3 pm IST) at
Boston (USA) centre. .more>

In
a function held at the Institute of Culture, Kolkata, on
18 March, Swami Atmasthanandaji, President, Ramakrishna Math &
Ramakrishna Mission, presented the Vivekananda Award, comprising
a cash award of one lakh rupees and a citation, to Sri Asim
Chaudhuri of USA for his two books Swami Vivekananda in
America – New Findings and Swami Vivekananda in Chicago –
New Findings. Sri S.S. Nijjar, Chief Justice of
Calcutta High Court, presided over the meeting.
Swami
Atmasthanandaji, President, Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna
Mission, consecrated the newly built Sri Ramakrishna Temple at
Ichapur Math on 3 April, the holy Rama Navami day. He
also addressed the public meeting organized on this occasion
along with Swami Prameyanandaji, Vice-President, Ramakrishna
Math & Ramakrishna Mission, and Swami Prabhanandaji, General
Secretary, Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission. Thousands of
devotees and 350 monks attended the four-day programme organized
on this occasion from 2 to 5 April.


A seven-foot
statue of Swamiji was installed at the Higher Secondary School
of Cherrapunji centre on 15 April.
