A P J Abdul Kalam, former President of India, visited
Bangalore Math on 31 May and released the book A Concise
Encyclopaedia of Hinduism (in three volumes, by Swami
Harshananda). Swami Prabhanandaji, General Secretary,
Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, presided over the
function.

Nattarampalli
centre organized a function from 2 to 4 May to mark its centenary.
Swami Smarananandaji, Vice-President, Ramakrishna Math &
Ramakrishna Mission, inaugurated the newly built extension to
the school building on 2 May. A teachers’ convention, a
farmers’ convention and cultural programmes formed part of the
three-day function.



Belgaum
centre conducted a month-long summer camp from 11 April to 13
May for boys in the age group 10-16. The programme
included Vedic chanting, yogasanas, meditation, and classes on
art and culture. In all, 135 boys took part in the camp.

Thrissur Math conducted a week-long summer camp from 21 to
27 April for students in the age group 10-15. Altogether
202 students participated in the camp.



Hyderabad
Math conducted a month-long summer camp for children from
27 April to 24 May. Children were taught yogasanas,
prayers, bhajans, Vedic chanting, Gita chanting and moral
stories from great lives and epics. In all, 1120 children
took part in the camp.



The newly constructed buildings for monks’ quarters and
dispensary at Kochi centre were inaugurated on 7 May.

Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, laid
the foundation stone for the proposed Vivekananda Vidya Niketan
(upper primary school) building at the new campus of Kadapa
Mission centre on 22 May.

Vivekananda University has been sanctioned full membership
of Global University Network for Innovation (GUNI), a
global network of innovative institutions devoted to social
commitment in higher education, set up by UNESCO, the United
Nations University, and the Technical University of Catalonia
(Barcelona, Spain), where the GUNI Secretariat is based.

The results of the students of our educational institutions at
the Higher Secondary Examination conducted by West Bengal
Council of Higher Secondary Education this year
