Welfare Department at Belur Math mainly functions in the villages of Howrah, Hooghly, Purba Bardhaman, Paschim Bardhaman, Bankura, Purulia, North 24 Paraganas, South 24 Paraganas, Kolkata, Purba Medinipur, Paschim Medinipur districts of West Bengal.

Activities of the Welfare Department :

  • Monthly stipends and study materials to students.
  • Ad-hoc pecuniary help, generally medical expenses.
  • Monthly pecuniary help to widows.
  • Distribution of tri-cycles / wheel chairs / hearing aids to differently abled persons.
  • Distribution of garments / sarees / winter wears / school dresses

Activities of the Welfare Department in 2021 – 22 :

  • Stipends were provided to 2874 students.
  • Pecuniary help was provided to 147 people.
  • Distribution of clothing ( Sarees, dhotis, winter clothing etc) to 9973 people.
  • Tri-cycles to 7 differently-abled persons.
