Ramakrishna Math, Antpur

Ramakrishna Premananda Ashrama, Antpur, located at the birthplace of Swami Premananda, a monastic disciple of Sri Ramakrishna, was started in 1965. In 1986, it was taken over by the Math and renamed ‘Ramakrishna Math’.

Activities

• Seven units of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa (GAP).

• Study circle (Vivek Vahini).

• Allopathic-cum-homeopathic dispensary with orthopaedic and eye departments.

• Mobile medical unit.

• Public library with a book bank.

• Welfare activities: Providing clothes, winter garments, vans for self-employment, and medical, educational and pecuniary aid.

• Celebration of Durga Puja and the birthday of Swami Premananda.

• Annual commemoration on 24 December of the historic event of 1886 where Swami Vivekananda and eight brother disciples took the vows of renunciation before a dhuni.
