Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Bhubaneswar

The Math centre was founded in 1919 by Swami Brahmananda, a monastic disciple of Sri Ramakrishna.

Activities:

1. A publication department which publishes books in Odia. Five new books and 25 reprints were published during the year; total number of titles: 182.
2. Publication of a monthly magazine Vivek Prabha in Odia (10th year).
3. Religious activities: Daily worship, religious classes, discourses, and celebration of Kali Puja and the birthdays of the Holy Trio and other prophets and saints.

The Mission centre was founded in 1920.

Activities:

1. A secondary school (class 8 to 10).
2. A middle school (class 1 to 7).
3. A hostel with tribal boys.
4. A unit of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa.
5. An allopathic-cum-homeopathic dispensary.
6. A mobile medical unit in rural areas.
7. Two eye camps.
8. A public library with 30,267 books and 15 periodicals.
9. Welfare activities: Providing winter garments, pecuniary aid and educational assistance.
