Ramakrishna Adbhutananda Ashrama was started in Chapra district of Bihar, where Swami Adbhutananda, a monastic disciple of Sri Ramakrishna, was born. In 2003, it was taken over by the Mission and renamed Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama.

Activities:

  1. A dispensary with allopathic, homeopathic and ayurvedic sections.
  2. Fifty-one medical camps.
  3. A coaching centre within the Ashrama and two coaching centres in rural areas.
  4. A public library with 9517 books and 18 periodicals.
  5. Welfare work: Providing clothes and blankets.
  6. Religious activities: Celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio, Swami Adbhutananda, other saints and prophets, and major religious festivals.
