Ramakrishna Mission, Chengalpattu

The centre was started in 1936 and taken over by the Mission in 1940. It moved to its present location in 1983.

Activities:

1. Three higher secondary schools (one from LKG to class 12; two from class 6 to 12).
2. A primary school (LKG to class 5).
3. A hostel for boys.
4. A public library with 3707 books and 10 periodicals.
5. Four coaching centres in rural areas.
6. A Siddha dispensary.
7. A mobile medical unit.
8. Two alcohol deaddiction camps.
9. Welfare work: Providing food, clothes, rice, milk, and pecuniary, educational & medical aid.
10. Religious activities: Japa Yajna and celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio and other religious leaders.
