This centre was started in 1946.
Activities:

  1. Vivekananda (Day) College, a degree college for men, offers 11 undergraduate and 7 postgraduate courses.
  2. Vivekananda (Evening) College, also a degree college for men, offers 8 undergraduate and 1 postgraduate course.
  3. The day college had five units of NSS which undertook programmes such as adult education, community welfare, etc. It also conducted 2 blood donation camps.
  4. A hostel for students.
  5. Vivekananda Institute of Tropical Mycology (VINSTROM), a research institute recognized by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, is engaged mainly in studying the biodiversity and technological potential of micro fungi in forests and other environments.
  6. Welfare Activities: Providing meals and educational assistance.
