Formerly known as Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, this centre was started in 1937 in East Bengal (now Bangladesh) and moved to its present premises in 1949. It was made a branch of the Ramakrishna Math in 2003.
Activities:
- A homeopathic dispensary. A cleft lip medical camp.
- A students’ home for boys.
- A vocational training unit in tailoring for women.
- A computer training centre.
- A unit of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa.
- A unit of Vivekananda Abhyudaya Prakalpa.
- Values education programmes for school & college students.
- Two study circles, one for youth members and the other for school students.
- A public library with books and periodicals.
- Welfare activities: Providing blankets, winter clothes, raincoats and pecuniary aid.
- Religious activities: Daily worship, Ramnam Sankirtan on Ekadashi days, regular religious classes, spiritual retreats, and celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio and other spiritual personalities, as also major religious festivals.
