Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Mumbai

The Math centre was started in 1923.

Activities:

1. Religious activities: Daily worship and bhajans, fortnightly Ramnam Sankirtan, religious lectures, scriptural classes, spiritual retreats, and celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio, Kali Puja, Ganesh Puja, Durga Puja, and other religious festivals.

2. A bookstore and a mobile book van.

The Mission centre was founded in 1932.

Activities:

1. A 70-bed hospital.

2. Nine eye camps at villages.

3. A public library with 45,032 books and 68 periodicals.

4. A coaching centre.

5. Rural and Tribal Welfare Unit: Medical camps and skill development training programmes for women in Shiroshi village, Jawhar Taluka of Palghar District, situated 125 km away from the main centre.
