The centre was started in 1961 and made a branch of the Ramakrishna Mission in 1992.
Activities:
- A vocational training centre with cutting, tailoring and embroidery courses.
- A coaching centre with school-going rural students.
- A study circle.
- A computer training centre.
- A public library.
- Religious activities: Daily worship, regular religious classes and discourses, Japa yajnas, and celebration of major festivals and the birthdays of the Holy Trio and other spiritual luminaries.
- Welfare activities: Providing food, clothes and educational and pecuniary aid.
