This branch centre was started in 1937.

Activities:

1. An allopathic-cum-homeopathic dispensary with ayurveda and physiotherapy sections.

2. A mobile medical unit treating patients in 70 villages.

3. Three units of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa.

4. A students’ home for tribal boys.

5. Welfare activities: Providing pecuniary, educational and medical aid.

6. Celebration of Durga Puja.

Sub-centre:

Vivekananda Cultural Centre: This sub-centre stands on the very spot where stood the famous Quinton Memorial Hall, in which Swami Vivekananda delivered his last public lecture in April 1901.

Activities:

1. A computer training centre.

2. A public library.

3. Drawing and painting classes and spoken English classes.

4. Vivekananda Youth Forum, a cultural unit where members attend classes on values education, personality development and Indian heritage.

5. Sanskriti, a cultural unit where children participate in yoga & meditation, storytelling, games, chanting, recitation, etc.

6. Publication of a trilingual online magazine, Ka Jingshai-The Light, in Khasi, Hindi and English (5th year).
