The centre was started in 1904 and made a branch of the Ramakrishna Mission in 1911.

Activities:

• A students’ hostel.
• A library.
• A homeopathic dispensary and Eye camps.
• A computer training centre.
• An audio-visual unit which screened religious and educational films.
• Daily worship and celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio and other religious personalities and major religious festivals.
• Weekly religious classes and occasional discourses in the centre and elsewhere.
• Welfare works.
