The centre was started in 1916 and made a branch of the Ramakrishna Mission in 1926.

- An allopathic-cum-homeopathic dispensary.
- A students’ home.
- A library.
- Seminars and cultural programmes.
- Welfare activities: Providing clothes, blankets and educational aid.
- Daily worsip, Ramnam Sankirtan on Ekadashi days and weekly religious classes.
- Celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio and major religious festivals.
