Vedanta Society of Toronto, Canada

This centre was started in 1968 and affiliated to the Ramakrishna Math in 1989. Swami Kripamayananda is its Minister-in-charge.

Activities:

1. Daily meditation and evening service, bhajans, Sunday lectures and weekly religious classes.

2. A monthly study circle in Greater Toronto area, and lectures at various cities in Canada and the USA.

3. Interviews to students and spiritual seekers.

4. A library with a reading room, and a bookstore.

5. A retreat for devotees, a seminar and a public-speaking competition for school children.

6. A bi-monthly Sunday school for children.

7. Celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio, Sri Krishna, Buddha, and Christ, and other religious festivals.

8. Community involvement through observing International Yoga Day and Senior Citizens’ Day.

9. A monthly vigil, consisting of japa, meditation and singing of Ramnam.

10. Publication of a monthly e-newsletter.

11. Welfare work by serving food to the homeless and needy.
