The Society was started in 1938. Swami Bhaskarananda was the President of this affiliate of the Ramakrishna Math till April 2023 when Swami Satyamayananda took charge from him.

Activities:

Daily worship, morning prayers, meditation, vesper services, weekly Ramnam Sankirtan and devotional singing.
Sunday services, scripture classes, and vigils on special days.
A Sunday school for children.
Interviews to spiritual seekers.
Talks in different colleges, schools and other places, and participation in interfaith meetings.
Celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio and Christ, and festivals like Shivaratri, Durga Puja and Kali Puja.
A library, a reading room, and a bookstore.
Publication of Global Vedanta, a quarterly journal in English (22nd year), and some books on Vedanta.
Monthly retreats at Tapovan, the Society’s retreat property near Arlington in Snohomish County.
