Vedanta Society, New York, USA

This Vedanta Society, the first of its kind in the USA, was started by Swami Vivekananda in 1894. Swami Sarvapriyananda is the Minister-in- charge of this affiliate of the Ramakrishna Math.

Activities:

• Daily prayer, vesper service, meditation, and regular Sunday services.
• Evening classes three days a week.
• Spiritual discourses and retreats in various locations in the USA and outside.
• Special services on the birthdays of the Holy Trio and major religious festivals.
• A library, a reading room and a bookstore.
• The annual Swami Vivekananda Festival at Vivekananda Retreat, Ridgley.
