Sri Ramakrishna Sevashrama in Viveknagar (formerly known as Amtali) was founded in 1966 and was taken over by the Ramakrishna Math in 1989. The centre has since then been known as ‘Ramakrishna Math.’ It is 8 km to the south of Agartala.

The Mission centre at Viveknagar was opened in 1989, on the 62 acres of land received from the Government of Tripura.

  • Higher secondary school (class 3 to 12, affiliated to CBSE), mainly for tribal children.

  • Industrial Training Institute.

  • Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa (GAP) unit and coaching centres.

  • Allopathic-cum-homeopathic dispensary with ayurvedic section.

  • Mobile dispensary unit.

  • Medical and eye camps.

  • Welfare activities: Providing food and educational aid.

Mission sub-centre at Gangail Road

Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama was started in 1950. After the Ramakrishna Mission took it over in 1985, it was renamed ‘Ramakrishna Mission’. It served as a full-fledged centre until 1989 when it was made a sub-centre of the ashrama at Viveknagar.
