Covid-19 Outbreak - Relief Activities

In the wake of the lockdown owing to the global pandemic caused by the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) there has been a severe disruption in normal day to day activities. The Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission have initiated relief services in different parts of the country and abroad to meet the pressing need of the afflicted, specially the poor and needy, through a number of its branch centres.
The Headquarters and many other centres conducted awareness campaign through putting up display boards, posters and distribution of leaflets. Pune and Kozhikode centres are providing temporary shelter and cooked food to stranded labourers from different states inside their campus. Face masks, hand sanitizers and soaps are being distributed by Saradapitha, Baranagar Mission, Darjeeling, Ranchi-Morabadi, Limbdi, Kothar, Vijayawada and Chennai (T. Nagar) in 6 states. Packed dry food items like rice, dal, salt, cooking oil, biscuits, etc. are being distributed by Baghbazar (Mayerbari), Saradapitha (Belur), Darjeeling, Ramharipur, Jhargram, Rishikesh and Cherrapunji (Sohra). Cooked food is being distributed by Delhi, Coimbatore Math and Vrindaban centres. Many more centres have informed that they are going to start relief-work very soon. As such, steps are being taken to extend the relief activities further. In this connection, it may specially be noted that our centre at Cherrapunji (Sohra) of Meghalaya has undertaken the responsibilities of rendering relief-services all over the state.
Isolation wings are also being set-up at our hospital centres in Ranchi, Varanasi, Vrindaban, Ponnampet, Seva Pratisthan (Kolkata), Kankhal (Haridwar) and Thiruvananthapuram with the help of the respective state governments. In our hospitals at Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh) and Kankhal (Haridwar) flu clinics have started to screen corona patients.
