Ramakrishna Ashrama and Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Dehra Dun (Kishanpur)

The Math centre was started in 1916.

Activities of the Math centre:

• A library and reading room with 17,030 books and 33 periodicals and newspapers.
• Daily worship, weekly discourses in and outside the ashrama, celebration of Janmashtami, Durga Puja, Kali Puja, etc and observance of the birth anniversaries of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda and other spiritual luminaries.

The Mission centre was started in 1974.

Activities of the Mission centre:

• A charitable homeopathic-cum-allopathic dispensary with ophthalmology and TB departments, which treated 10,628 cases.
• A mobile medical unit, which treated 2928 cases this year.
• Eye camps in 17 schools, in which 4959 students were examined and 163 students were given free spectacles.
• Five units of Gadadhara Abhyudaya Prakalpa which had 134 boys and 148 girls.
• Workshops, conventions and seminars on values education and personality development (10 programmes held during the year – 876 beneficiaries), besides various competitions were conducted for 800 students.
• Welfare work by way of providing food supplements, medicines, medical consultancy to mothers-to-be and lactating mothers among the poor.
