Ramakrishna Ashrama and Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Dehradun (Kishanpur)

The Math centre was started in 1916.

Activities of the Math centre:

  1. A library and reading room with 17,830 books and 33 periodicals and newspapers.
  2. Daily worship, weekly discourses in and outside the ashrama, celebration of Janmashtami, Durga Puja, Kali Puja, etc and observance of the birth anniversaries of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda and other spiritual luminaries.

The Mission centre was started in 1974.

Activities of the Mission centre:

  1. A charitable homeopathic-cum-allopathic dispensary which treated 17,390 cases.
  2. A mobile medical unit, which treated 1962 cases this year.
  3. Eye camps in 2 schools, in which 670 students were examined and 101 students were given free spectacles. In other eye camps, 12 patients were operated on for cataract.
  4. Five units of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa which had 179 boys and 152 girls.
  5. A study circle with 129 students.
  6. Workshops, conventions and seminars on values education and personality development (11 programmes held during the year were attended by 1893 people), further various competitions were conducted for 985 students.
  7. Welfare work by way of providing food supplements, medicines, medical consultancy to mothers-to-be and lactating mothers among the poor.
