Ramakrishna Ashrama and Ramakrishna Mission, Bagerhat, Bangladesh

The ashrama (Math centre) was started in 1926, and the Mission centre in December 2012.

Activities of the Math centre:

  1. Daily worship, prayers and bhajans.
  2. Celebration of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda, as also Durga Puja, Kali Puja, Jagadhatri Puja and other religious personages.
  3. Religious discourses in and outside the Ashrama.

Activities of the Mission centre:

  1. A students’ home with 53 students.
  2. A computer training centre with 60 students.
  3. A library with 4155 books and 8 periodicals and newspapers.
  4. A charitable allopathic-cum-homeopathic dispensary, which treated 42,487 cases.
  5. A publication department and a book showroom.
  6. Welfare work by way of distributing rice, blankets, clothes, etc. and providing pecuniary and educational aid.
