Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Malda

The Math centre was started in 1924.

Activities:

1. Religious activities: Daily worship & bhajans, scriptural classes & lectures, Ramnam Sankirtan on Ekadashi days, spiritual retreats, and celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio, Durga Puja, Kali Puja, and other religious festivals.

2. A public library with 5203 books & 5 periodicals.

3. Welfare work: Feeding the poor.

The Mission centre was started in 1942.

Activities:

1. A higher secondary school (class 5 to 12).

2. A primary school (nursery to class 4).

3. A primary school (nursery to class 4) in a rural area.

4. A students’ hostel.

5. Five coaching centres.

6. Two units of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa.

7. A dispensary.

8. A mobile medical unit.

9. Welfare activities: Providing groceries, food, and medical and educational assistance.
