Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Medinipur

The Mission centre: Ramakrishna Sevashrama was founded in 1914. It was taken over by the Mission and renamed Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama in 1931. After some years, it was renamed Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama.

Activities:

1. A higher secondary school (class 5 to 12).

2. A junior basic school (class 1 to 4).

3. A hostel for boys.

4. Five non-formal education centres in rural and urban areas.

5. An allopathic dispensary with a physiotherapy department.

6. A homeopathic dispensaries at Barkola villages.

7. Six medical camps and aneye camp.

8. Welfare activities: Providing pecuniary, medical, and educational aid.

The Math centre was started in 1986.

Activities:

1. A public library.

2. Welfare activities: Providing clothes.

3. Celebration of Durga Puja.
