Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Bhubaneswar

The Math centre was founded in 1919 by Swami Brahmananda, a monastic disciple of Sri Ramakrishna.

Activities of the Math centre:

  • Daily worship, regular religious classes, and discourses.
  • Celebration of Kali Puja and the birthdays of some prophets and saints.
  • A publication department which publishes books in Odia. Total number of titles : 164.
  • Publication of a monthly magazine Vivek Prabha in Odia.

The Mission centre was founded in 1920.

Activities of the Mission centre:

    1. A secondary school.
    2. A free students’ home for tribal boys.
    3. An allopathic-cum-homeopathic dispensary.
    4. A rural mobile medical unit.
    5. A library and a reading room with 30,272 books and 65 periodicals and newspapers.
    6. Monthly cultural meetings and regular yogasana classes for youths.
    1. Welfare work by way of providing pecuniary help to the poor.
