Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Mumbai

The Math centre was started in 1923.

Activities:

1. A bookstore and a mobile book van.
2. Celebration of Kali Puja, Ganesh Puja, Durga Puja.

The Mission centre: Swami Shivananda, one of the direct disciples of Sri Ramakrishna, laid the foundation stone in 1923 and the centre started functioning from 1932.

Activities:

1. A 70-bed hospital.

2. Ten eye camps at villages and one medical camp.

3. A public library with 45,028 books and 68 periodicals.

4. A coaching centre.

5. A vocational training centre for training girls in tailoring.
6. A study circle with 15 students.

7. Rural and Tribal Welfare Unit: Medical camps and skill development training programmes for women in Shiroshi village, Jawhar Taluka of Palghar District, situated 125 km away from the main centre.
