Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Prayagraj (Allahabad)

The Math and Mission centres were founded by Swami Vijnanananda, a monastic disciple of Sri Ramakrishna, in 1908 and 1910 respectively.

Activities of the Math centre:

  • Religious activities: Daily worship, occasional recitation of Hanuman Chalisa, Ramnam & Shyamnam Sankirtan and spiritual discourses.
  • Celebration of major festivals and the birth anniversaries of the Holy Trio and Swami Vijnanananda.

Activities of the Mission centre:

  • A homeopathic-cum-allopathic dispensary.
  • A computer training centre.
  • Personality development.
  • A public library with 34,485 books and 9 periodicals.
  • Welfare activities.
