Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Prayagraj (Allahabad)

The Math centre was founded in 1908 by Swami Vijnanananda (a monastic disciple of Sri Ramakrishna).

Activities of the Math centre:

  1. Daily worship, Hanuman Chalisa, Ramanam & Shyamanam Sankirtan, bhajans and regular religious classes, spiritual retreats and lectures in and outside the ashrama premises.
  2. Celebration of the birth anniversaries of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda, Swami Vijnanananda, and some other religious teachers.

The Mission centre was founded in 1910 by Swami Vijnanananda.

Activities of the Mission centre:

  1. A charitable homeopathic-cum-allopathic dispensary with pathology, physiotherapy, ECG, and specialist consultancy services. 51,475 cases were treated during the year.
  2. A library and a reading room (with a separate section for children), having 34,304 books and 55 newspapers and periodicals.
  3. Weekly personality development classes for boys and girls.
  4. A camp at Magh Mela with free medical treatment (14,757 outpatients treated this year), religious discourses, a bookstall, an exhibition, 82 pilgrims were accommodated this year.
  5. A computer training centre which trained 885 boys and 762 girls.
  6. Two units of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa for about 100 needy children.
  7. Welfare work by way of providing food, distributing clothes, hygienic kits and educational kits to the poor and needy.
