Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Lucknow

The Mission centre was started in 1914 and taken over in 1925.

Activities:

1. Vivekananda Polyclinic & Institute of Medical Sciences: A 500-bed hospital with the following sections: general medicine, general and orthopaedic surgery, ENT, gynaecology, gastroenterology, dermatology, dentistry, ophthalmology, urology, oncology, ICU, CVTD, neonatal intensive care unit, neurosurgery, nephrology, pathology, radiology, blood bank, physiotherapy, psychiatry, TB, family planning, homeopathy, ayurveda, etc.

2. DNB courses in 12 disciplines were offered.

3. The paramedical institute offered diploma courses in 8 paramedical disciplines.

4. A mobile medical unit.

5. Twenty-four medical camps.

6. The college of nursing offered BSc and MSc (Hons) courses, and the school of nursing offered GNM (diploma course).

7. Welfare activities: Providing pecuniary help, clothes, blankets, medical help, etc.

Ayodhya sub-centre: Daily worship, religious classes, and welfare services.

The Math centre was started in 1982.

Activities:

1. A library with 38,004 books and 40 periodicals.

2. Yoga, cultural and personality development programmes

3. Celebration of Durga Puja.
