Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Lucknow

The Mission centre was started in 1914 and taken over in 1925.

Activities of the Mission centre:

• Vivekananda Polyclinic & Institute of Medical Sciences: A 350- bed hospital with the following sections: general medicine, general and orthopaedic surgery, ENT, gynaecology, gastroenterology, dermatology, dentistry, ophthalmology, urology, oncology, ICU, CVTD, neonatal intensive care unit, neurosurgery, nephrology, pathology, radiology, blood bank, physiotherapy, psychiatry, TB, family planning, homeopathy, ayurveda, etc.
• DNB courses in 12 disciplines and diploma in paramedical courses in 8 disciplines.
• Mobile medical units.
• Medical camps.
• The college of nursing offered BSc and MSc (Hons) courses, and the
• school of nursing offered GNM (diploma course).
• Welfare activities: Providing pecuniary help, clothes, blankets, etc.

The Math centre was started in 1982.

Activities of the Math centre:

• A library with 37,554 books and 40 periodicals.
• Religious classes and discourses.
• Daily worship and bhajans, Ramnam Sankirtan on Ekadashi days, Shyamnam Sankirtan on Purnima days and Devinam Sankirtan on Amavasya days.
• Celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio, Durga Puja and other major religious festivals.
• Various cultural and personality development programmes, yoga classes, and coaching classes.
