Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Memorial, Vadodara

The Mission centre was started in 2005 on Dilaram Bungalow premises, a place sanctified by the stay of Swami Vivekananda in 1892.

Activities of the Mission Centre:

  1. A public library and a reading room.
  2. A mobile medical unit, which functions mainly in rural areas. Besides, free eye camps were held every year.
  3. Bala Sanskar Kendra for children, a youth study circle, and free coaching classes.
  4. A permanent exhibition on Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda.
  5. A summer camp for children, and values education programmes for students.
  6. Welfare work by way of providing pecuniary help and educational help to students.
  7. Religious activities: Daily prayers, fortnightly Ramnam Sankirtan, religious discourses, celebration of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda and other spiritual personalities as also festivals like Ramnavami, Janmashtami, Buddha Jayanti and Christmas Eve.

The Math centre was started in January 2007 at Kalali, Vadodara (7 km from the Mission centre).

Activities of the Math Centre:

  1. Religious classes in the ashrama and spiritual retreats.
  2. Celebration of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda and other spiritual personalities as also a few other festivals.
