Ramakrishna Math, Antpur

Ramakrishna Premananda Ashrama, Antpur, located at the birthplace of Swami Premananda, a monastic disciple of Sri Ramakrishna, was started in 1965. In 1986, it was taken over by the Math and renamed ‘Ramakrishna Math’.
Activities:

1. Units of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa (on the ashrama campus and at Prasadpur village).
2. A study circle (Vivek Vahini) for boys.
3. An allopathic-cum-homeopathic dispensary with orthopaedic and eye departments.
4. A mobile medical unit.
5. A public library with books, periodicals, and a book bank for students.
6. Welfare activities: Providing clothes, winter garments, food items, drinking water, vans for self-employment, and medical, educational and pecuniary aid.
7. Religious activities: Daily worship, religious classes, and celebration of major religious festivals and the birthdays of the Holy Trio and Swami Premananda. On 24 December, the centre celebrates at the very spot the event of 1886 when Swami Vivekananda and eight of his brother disciples took the vows of renunciation before a dhuni (sacred fire).
