Ramakrishna Math, Ichapur

A group of devotees formed, around 1970, Sri Ramakrishna-Ramakrishnananda Trust at Ichapur, Hooghly, the birthplace of Swami Ramakrishnananda (a monastic disciple of Sri Ramakrishna). The management of the Trust was taken over by the Ramakrishna Math, and a branch was opened there in 1994.

Activities:

1. A unit of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa.

2. Seven coaching centres.

3. A homeopathic-cum-allopathic dispensary and a TB clinic.

4. A public library with 906 books.

5. Welfare activities: Providing pecuniary, medical and educational assistance to indigent people.

6. Religious activities: Daily worship, bhajans, religious classes, occasional spiritual retreats, and celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio & Swami Ramakrishnananda, and other religious festivals.
