The centre was started in 1927. Although it ceased to be an official branch of the Ramakrishna Math after some years, its activities continued. The management of the centre was again taken over by the Ramakrishna Math in 2016.
Activities:
- Religious activities: Daily worship, Ramnam Sankirtan on Ekadashi days, religious classes and lectures, and celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio and major religious festivals.
- Welfare activities: Providing pecuniary and educational assistance.
