Ramakrishna Math, Pune

Vivekananda Society was started in Pune in 1927 and renamed Ramakrishna Ashram in 1957. It was made a branch of the Ramakrishna Math in 1984 and is since then known as ‘Ramakrishna Math’.

Activities:

1. An allopathic-cum-homeopathic dispensary with a TB clinic.

2. A mobile medical unit serving remote areas.

3. A computer training centre.

4. Balak Sangha, a cultural and recreational centre for children.

5. A public library with 21,782 books and 32 periodicals.

6. Religious activities: Daily worship, fortnightly Ramnam Sankirtan, religious lectures, spiritual retreats, and celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio and other religious festivals.
