Vivekananda Society was started in Pune in 1927 and renamed Ramakrishna Ashram in 1957. It was made a branch centre of the Ramakrishna Math in 1984 and is since then known as ‘Ramakrishna Math’.
Activities:
- An allopathic-cum-homeopathic dispensary with a TB clinic.
- A mobile medical unit.
- Dental camps.
- A computer training centre.
- Three units of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa.
- Balak Sangha, a cultural and recreational centre.
- A public library.
- Religious activities: Daily worship, fortnightly Ramnam Sankirtan, religious lectures, spiritual retreats, and celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio and major religious festivals.
