Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka, Bangladesh

The Math centre was started in 1899 and made a branch in 1914.

Activities of the Math centre:

  • Religious activities: Daily worship and bhajans, religious discourses, and weekly classes.
  • Celebration of the major religious festivals and the birthdays of the Holy Trio and other spiritual luminaries.
  • Publication of books (8 titles in circulation) and a Bengali quarterly Prabodhan.

The Mission centre was started in 1916.

Activities of the Mission centre:

  • A high school (class 6 to 10), and a nursery.
  • A students’ home.
  • A library with 15,930 books and 2 periodicals.
  • A computer training centre.
  • An allopathic-cum-homeopathic dispensary and a mobile medical unit.
  • Welfare activities: Distribution of clothes, blankets, winter garments and other essential items.
  • Seminars and discourses on the Holy Trio.
