Ramakrishna Math (Yogodyan), Kankurgachhi, Kolkata

This centre was founded in 1883 by Sri Ram Chandra Dutta, a distinguished disciple of Sri Ramakrishna, and has been sanctified by Sri Ramakrishna’s visit. It was made a branch of the Math in 1943.


  1. An allopathic-cum-homeopathic dispensary.
  2. Balak Sangha: Poor boys were given free coaching, food and moral education.
  3. computer training centre for local slum boys.
  4. A library and a reading room which has 12,965 books and 29 periodicals and dailies.
  5. Welfare work by way of providing educational help to students and medical help, pecuniary help and blankets to needy people.
  6. Daily worship, Ramanam Sankirtan, weekly religious classes, occasional lectures, devotees’ meets, etc.
  7. Celebration of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda and other religious personages, Saraswati puja and also some other festivals.
