Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Gwalior

The ashrama was started in 1959 and made a branch of the Ramakrishna Mission in 2016.

Activities:

  • A higher secondary school (KG to class 12), affiliated to CBSE.
  • Sarada Nad Mandir, a music school, affiliated to Raja Mansingh Tomar Music & Arts University, Gwalior. 
  • Roshni, a rehabilitation centre for physically and mentally challenged students, providing speech,hearing,physio,occupational therapy and early intervention services.
  • A public library.
  • Values education programmes, educational seminars, yoga camps, cultural competitions, etc.
  • Religious activities included celebration of the birth anniversaries of the Holy Trio, Durga Puja and Kali Puja, and other major religious festivals.

Activities on the Sarada Balgram campus (2.5 km away from the main campus):

  • A students’ home. Vocational training in mushroom cultivation.
  • A higher secondary school (KG to class 12), affiliated to Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education.
  • An alternative therapy clinic (AYUSH) and medical camps.
  • Kargil Park (a war memorial park), an organic farm, a herbal garden, and a dairy.
  • A skill development unit that produced incense sticks, cow dung cakes, etc.
