Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Kanpur

Ramakrishna Seva Sadan, Kanpur, was started in 1920. It was made a branch of the Mission in 1931 under the name ‘Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama’. The centre moved to its present address in 1936.

Activities:

  1. A secondary school.
  2. A library-cum-reading room with 32,333 books and 72 periodicals and newspapers.
  3. An allopathic-cum-homeopathic dispensary.
  4. A unit of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa.
  5. Religious activities included daily worship, regular spiritual classes, bhajans, and celebration of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda and other religious personalities.
