Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Kanpur

The ashrama was started in 1920 and made a branch of the Mission in 1931.


  1. A secondary school with 670 students.
  2. A library-cum-reading room with 32,224 books and 79 periodicals and newspapers.
  3. An allopathic-cum-homeopathic dispensary, which treated 18,678 cases.
  4. A unit of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa with 53 poor children.
  5. A free coaching centre with 50 students.
  6. Religious activities included daily worship, regular spiritual classes, bhajans, and celebration of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda and other religious personalities.
