Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Kanpur

Ramakrishna Seva Sadan, Kanpur, was started in 1920. It was made a branch of the Mission in 1931 under the name ‘Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama’. The centre moved to its present address in 1936.

Activities:

  • A secondary school (class 6 to 10).
  • A public library.
  • An allopathic-cum-homeopathic dispensary.
  • Four medical camps that treated 604 patients.
  • A unit of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa and a coaching centre.
  • Regular values education and meditation programmes.
  • Religious activities: Daily worship and bhajans, regular spiritual classes, occasional spiritual retreats, and celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio and other religious festivals.
  • Welfare activities: Providing food, winter garments, hygiene kits, etc.
