Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Kothar

It is situated at the house of Sri Balaram Basu, a chief lay disciple of Sri Ramakrishna. Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi stayed here for 66 days (from 5 December 1910 to 8 February 1911). This sacred house was maintained by Shree Maa Sarada Devi Smruty Samity since 1997 and handed it over to the Ramakrishna Mission in 2012.

Activities:

1. A coaching centre for underprivileged students who were also provided with milk and refreshments.

2. Two units of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa.

3. A dispensary.

4. Welfare work by way of providing clothes, winter garments, pecuniary help to widows, medical and educational assistance.
5. Celebration of Annapurna Puja.
