The centre, situated in the Sagar Island, was started in 1928.


  1. A secondary school with 736 boys.
  2. A junior basic school with 254 boys.
  3. A primary school with 162 girls.
  4. A students’ home with 88 boys.
  5. A unit of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa with 50 underprivileged children.
  6. Three coaching centres with 144 students, mostly belonging to scheduled castes and scheduled tribes.
  7. One non-formal education centre with 41 students.
  8. Two libraries having 6046 books and 17 newspapers and periodicals.
  9. A vocational training centre for training in weaving and tailoring (22 girl trainees).
  10. A charitable homeopathic dispensary: 2331 cases treated.
  11. Weekly medical camps at different places in the Sagar Island (6808 patients treated).
  12. A special camp at the Gangasagar Mela area in which 3000 pilgrims were provided with free board and lodging.
  13. Welfare work by way of providing food, milk, medicines, pecuniary help, blankets, etc to the poor and needy, and educational aids to poor students.
  14. Religious activities: Regular spiritual classes, Ramanam Sankirtan, and celebration of the birth anniversaries of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda, Durga puja, Kali puja, etc.
