This centre was started in 1985 for the uplift of the tribal people of Abujmarh. It was then under the control of the Raipur branch of the Mission. It was made a full-fledged centre in 1990.

Activities:

  • A residential higher secondary school (class 1 to 12).
  • An Agriculture Training and Demonstration Centre at Brehebeda (3 km from the campus): (i) Agriculture training given to farmers, (ii) guidance to farmers, (iii) agricultural demonstrations, (iii) distribution of improved varieties of seeds, agricultural inputs, and equipment, and (iv) construction of fishponds, etc.
  • A residential Industrial Training Institute offering vocational courses in 10 trade skills.
  • A vocational training centre giving training in driving, electrical fitting and repairing and other trades.
  • A coaching centre: The students are provided with free educational kits, transport facilities and refreshments.
  • A 30-bed hospital.
  • Mobile medical units.
  • A central library.
  • Three orphanages were separately maintained for boys and girls. (All inmates are provided with accommodation, education, and food).
  • A sports meet and a fair in which students from various schools of Narainpur district took part.
  • Two fair price shops in Narainpur and 5 in Abujmarh villages under Public Distribution System (PDS) that provided the tribal populace with grocery items and daily needs at nominal rates.
  • A football academy.
  • Religious activities: Regular lectures and celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio and other spiritual luminaries and major religious festivals.
  • Welfare activities: Providing scholarships for higher education and distribution of milk.
  • The ashrama extends support to VISHWAS (Vivekananda Institute of Social Health, Welfare and Service) at Orchha (66 km from the Ashrama) to run (a) a residential high school for girls, (b) three medical units, (c) a fair-price shop, and (d) a nutritional rehabilitation centre.

The Ashrama runs five tribal development centres in interior parts of Narainpur district.

  • Activities at the tribal development centre in Akabeda: (a) a residential secondary school, (b) a health post, (c) a nutritional rehabilitation centre, (d) a fair-price shop, and (e) welfare work.
  • Activities at the tribal development centre in Irakbhatti: (a) a residential middle school, a health post, (c) a fair-price shop, and (d) welfare work.
  • Activities at the tribal development centre in Kachhapal: a residential middle school, a health post, (c) a fair-price shop, and (d) welfare work.
  • Activities at the tribal development centre in Kundla: (a)  a residential secondary school, (b) a health post, (c) a nutritional rehabilitation centre, (d) a fair-price shop, and (e) welfare work.
  • Activities at the tribal development centre in Kutul: (a) a residential middle school, a health post, (c) a fair-price shop, and (d) welfare work.

Three nutritional rehabilitation centres treated patients and SAM (Severe and Acute Malnourished) children. Also, two motorbike ambulances were introduced, and nutritional kitchen gardens were started in anganwadis to support the treatment of the SAM children.
