This centre was started in 1985 for the uplift of the tribal people of Abujhmarh. Initially under the control of the Raipur branch of the Mission, it became a full-fledged centre in 1990.

Activities:

  1. A residential higher secondary school (class 1 to 12) with tribal students.

  2. An Agriculture Training and Demonstration Centre at Brehebeda, with activities such as:

    • Organising a Farmer’s fair.

    • Providing guidance to farmers and conducting agricultural demonstrations.

    • Distribution of improved varieties of seeds, agricultural inputs, and equipment.

    • Construction of fishponds, compost units, and other agricultural infrastructure.

  3. A vocational training centre giving training in driving, electrical fitting and repairing and other trades.

  4. A residential Industrial Training Institute offering vocational courses in 10 trade skills.

  5. A coaching centre, which also provides free educational kits, transport facilities, and refreshments to the students.

  6. A football academy.

  7. A 30-bed hospital treating inpatients and outpatients.

  8. Two mobile medical units.

  9. A computer training centre.

  10. A central library.

  11. Three orphanages for boys and girls.

  12. A sports meet and a fair involving numerous students from Narainpur district.

  13. Two fair price shops in Narainpur under Public Distribution System (PDS) which provided the tribal populace with grocery items.

  14. Welfare activities: Providing scholarships for higher education, and distribution of milk.
  15. The ashrama extends support to VISHWAS (Vivekananda Institute of Social Health, Welfare and Service), a registered society at Orchha village (66 km from the Ashrama) to run (a) residential high school for girls (class 1 to 10) with 325 students, (b) three medical units, (c) a fair-price shop, and (d) a nutritional rehabilitation centre.

The ashrama runs five tribal development centres in interior parts of Narainpur district.

  1. Activities at the tribal development centre in Akabeda: (a) a residential secondary school (class 1 to 10), (b) a health post, (c) a nutritional rehabilitation centre, (d) a fair-price shop, and (e) welfare work.
  2. Activities at the tribal development centre in Kundla: (a) a residential secondary school (class 1 to 10), (b) a health post, (c) a nutritional rehabilitation centre, (d) a fair-price shop, and (e) welfare work.
  3. Activities at the tribal development centre in Irakbhatti: (a) a residential middle school (class 1 to 8), (b) a health post, (c) a fair-price shop, and (d) welfare work.
  4. Activities at the tribal development centre in Kachhapal: (a) a residential middle school (class 1 to 8), (b) a health post, (c) a fair-price shop, and (d) welfare work.
  5. Activities at the tribal development centre in Kutul: (a) a residential middle school (class 1 to 8), (b) a health post, (c) a fair-price shop, and (d) welfare work.

Six health posts (5 at the above tribal development centres and 1 at Khodgaon).

Three nutritional rehabilitation centres which treated adult patients and SAM (Severe and Acute Malnourished) children.
