Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Narainpur

This centre was started in 1985 for the uplift of the tribal people of Abujhmarh. Initially under the control of the Raipur branch of the Mission, it became a full-fledged centre in 1990.

Activities:

1. A residential higher secondary school (class 1 to 12) with tribal students.

2. An Agriculture Training and Demonstration Centre at Brehebeda, with activities such as:

   • Organising a Farmer’s fair.

   • Providing guidance to farmers and conducting agricultural demonstrations.

   • Distribution of improved varieties of seeds, agricultural inputs, and equipment.

   • Construction of fishponds, compost units, and other agricultural infrastructure.

3. A vocational training centre offering courses in driving, electrical fitting, repairing, and other trades.

4. A residential Industrial Training Institute offering vocational courses in 10 trade skills.

5. A coaching centre providing free educational kits, transport facilities, and refreshments.

6. A football academy for youth training.

7. A 30-bed hospital treating inpatients and outpatients.

8. Two mobile medical units providing healthcare to rural patients.

9. A computer training centre with a significant number of students.

10. A central library with books and periodicals.

11. Three orphanages for boys and girls.

12. A sports meet and fair involving numerous students from Narainpur district.

13. Two fair price shops providing essential items to the tribal populace under the Public Distribution System.

14. Religious activities: Regular lectures and celebrations of significant religious occasions.

15. Welfare activities: Scholarships, distribution of milk, and other forms of assistance.

16. Support to VISHWAS (Vivekananda Institute of Social Health, Welfare, and Service) at Orchha village, including:

    • A residential high school for girls.

    • Medical units, a fair-price shop, and a nutritional rehabilitation centre.

17. Tribal development centres in Narainpur district, offering:

    • Residential schools (class 1 to 10 or class 1 to 8) in multiple villages.

    • Health posts, nutritional rehabilitation centres, and fair-price shops.

18. Total health impact: 25,891 patients treated at 6 health posts and 8102 patients treated at nutritional rehabilitation centres.
