Ramakrishna Mission, Chengalpattu

The centre was started in 1936 and taken over by the Mission in 1940. It moved to its present location in 1983.

Activities:

  • Three higher secondary schools (one from LKG to class 12; two from class 6 to 12).
  • A primary school (LKG to class 5).
  • A Student hostel.
  • A public library.
  • Four coaching centres in rural areas.
  • A Siddha dispensary.
  • A mobile medical unit.
  • Alcohol deaddiction camps.
  • Welfare work: Providing food, clothes, rice, milk, and pecuniary, educational & medical aid.
  • Religious activities: Japa Yajna and celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio and other religious leaders.
