  1. Handing-Over Ceremony 

    A new center of Ramakrishna Mission has been established in Haflong, Assam, following the takeover of the Sri Ramakrishna Seva Samity, Haflong. This erstwhile private center was previously under the UTTAR-PURBANCHAL RAMAKRISHNA-VIVEKANANDA BHAVPRACHAR PARISHAD.

    Auspicious Ceremony and Dignitary Visits

    On the auspicious day of Akshay Tritiya (May 10, 2024), a day-long program was held to mark the handover of the Sri Ramakrishna Seva Samity to Ramakrishna Math & Mission, Belur Math, Howrah.

    The program included:

    • Vishesh Puja and Homa: Special worship of deities (Thakur, Maa, Swami Vivekananda) and a sacred fire ceremony were performed. Swami Pranarupananda ji also led a recitation of the Chandi Path.
    • Formal Handover Meeting: A meeting was presided over by Sri Hironmoy Bathari, President of the Samity. Members of the Samity’s governing body, devotees, and several monastic members were present, including Swami Vaikunthananda (Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, Silchar), Swami Pranarupananda (attached to the new Ramakrishna Mission Haflong), Swami Vedasarananda (Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Itanagar), and Swami Amiteshananda (newly appointed Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission, Haflong).

    Several dignitaries visited the Ashrama in connection with the ceremony:

    • Sri Debolal Gorlosa, Chief Executive Member, N.C. Hills Autonomous Council: Accompanied by Sri Donpainon Thaosen, Executive Member, Mr. Gorlosa visited the temple and new hostel building. He interacted with students, monastics, and Samity members, and pledged financial support for the hostel construction.
    • Smt. Nandita Gorlosa, Hon’ble Power Minister, Govt. of Assam: Smt. Gorlosa visited the Ashrama, participated in the handing-over ceremony, and delivered a speech.
    • Sri Parimol Suklabaidya, Hon’ble Excise Minister, Govt. of Assam: A devotee of the Holy Trio, Mr. Suklabaidya visited the Ashrama in the evening.
