Sarada Vidyalaya was started in Chennai in 1921 and was taken over by the Mission in 1938 and renamed ‘Ramakrishna Mission Sarada Vidyalaya’.

Activities:

  1. Three higher secondary schools (two schools from class 6 to 12 and one from LKG to class 12) for girls.
  2. A middle school (class 1 to 8).
  3. A primary school (class 1 to 5).
  4. Two girls’ hostels – one for boarders and the other for orphans.
  5. A working women’s hostel.
  6. A Skill Development Centre providing courses in tailoring, aari (hand embroidery) work, and beautician training.
  7. Health checkup camps and health awareness camps.
  8. Welfare activities: Providing food, clothes, and educational aid.
  9. Religious activities: Giving moral and religious instructions to students, and celebration of major religious festivals and the birthdays of the Holy Trio.
