Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Silchar

Ramakrishna Sevashrama was started in Silchar in 1924. It was made a branch of the Mission in 1939. From then on, it is known as ‘Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama’.

Activities:

1. A students’ home for tribal boys.

2. Coaching centres where students were provided food and educational kits.

3. Units of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa for underprivileged children.

4. A vocational training centre offering tailoring courses for girls.

5. A public library with a good collection of books and periodicals.

6. A mobile medical unit providing healthcare services.

7. Eye and dental camps conducted for local communities.

8. Welfare activities: Distribution of clothes and medical help.
