Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Silchar

Ramakrishna Sevashrama was started in Silchar in 1924. It was made a branch of the Mission in 1939. From then on, it is known as ‘Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama’.

Activities:

1. A students’ home for tribal boys.

2. Five coaching centres where students were provided food and educational kits.

3. Four units of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa.

4. A vocational training centre offering tailoring courses for girls.

5. A study circle.

6. A public library.

7. A mobile medical unit.

8. Three eye camps and a dental camp.

9. Welfare activities: Providing clothes and medical help.

10. Celebration of Durga Puja.
