‘Ramakrishna Grama Kshema Trust’ was started in 1985 under the guidance of Ramakrishna Math, Basavanagudi, Bengaluru, for the development of the village Shivanahalli located 32 km from Bengaluru. It was made a branch of the Mission under the name ‘Ramakrishna Mission’ in 1996.
Activities:
- Two middle schools (one from class 1 to 8, another with class 6 & 7) and one nursery school.
- Two units of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa.
- An allopathic dispensary.
- Assisting (a) self-help groups in getting loans from microcredit organizations etc, and (b) two women cooperative dairy units.
- Welfare activities: Providing food and pecuniary and educational aid.
