Ramakrishna Mission, Somsar

Somsar Ramakrishna Seva Mandir, located at the birthplace of Swami Bhuteshananda, the 12th President of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, was founded in 1996. It was taken over by the Ramakrishna Mission in 2021 and renamed ‘Ramakrishna Mission’.

Activities:

1. Two units of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa for children.

2. A homeopathic dispensary serving local patients.

3. Medical camps including skin and general camps for treating villagers.

4. A daily nutrition programme providing nutritional supplements to children.

5. Welfare activities: Distribution of clothes, blankets and winter garments.

6. Religious activities: Daily worship, religious discourses, occasional spiritual retreats, and celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio and other religious festivals.

Indas Sub-centre:

Situated about 10 km from the main centre, this sub-centre was started in 2023 at the birthplace of Pandit Gourikanta Tarkabhushan.

Activities:

1. A weekly homeopathic dispensary providing medical services.

2. Religious activities: Daily vesper service, religious discourses and celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio.
