Ramakrishna Mission, Somsar

Somsar Ramakrishna Seva Mandir, located at the birthplace of Swami Bhuteshananda, the 12^th President of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, was founded in 1996. It was taken over by the Ramakrishna Mission in 2021 and renamed ‘Ramakrishna Mission’.

Activities:

1. Two units of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa.

2. A homeopathic dispensary.

3. Ten dermatological camps, two dental camps and thirty-four general medical camps.

4. Nutritional support with daily supplements to children.

5. Publication of a title in Bengali.

6. Welfare activities: Distribution of clothes, blankets and winter garments.

Indas Sub-centre:

Indas Sri Ramakrishna Sevashram in Bankura district was taken over and made a sub-centre of Somsar centre in March 2026.

Divakarbati Unit, Indas: Situated about 10 km from Somsar, this unit was started in 2023 on the sacred birthplace of Pandit Gourikanta Tarkabhushan.

Activities: A weekly homeopathic dispensary.
