Ramakrishna Mission Swami Vivekananda’s Ancestral House and Cultural Centre, Kolkata

This branch of the Ramakrishna Mission was started at the birthplace and ancestral house of Swami Vivekananda in 2004.

Activities:

  • A school of languages with courses in Spoken English, German, French, Spanish and Sanskrit.
  • A computer training centre.
  • Coaching centres: The children were also given breakfast, books and clothes.
  • Two units of Gadadhar Abhuydaya Prakalpa.
  • A textbook library for school/college students.
  • Youth forums and values education classes.
  • A dispensary.
  • A museum on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
  • A memorial shrine with two small meditation halls.
  • Regular religious classes, endowment lectures, seminars, etc.
  • Welfare activities: Provided clothes, pecuniary aid and educational assistance to people in rural and urban areas.
